Hi there, I’m Jeannie Thomma. I’ve been making and teaching fiber art—knitting, felting, weaving, and embroidery—for more than three decades. My work has been featured in national catalogues, offered to collectors through craft centers, galleries, and curated retail shops, and published in magazines. Today, I design colorful hand knits from my studio, just a heartbeat away from Asheville, in the mountains of Western North Carolina.

If you’re drawn to color combinations that are found in nature—then my palettes will speak to you.  When creating, I gather inspiration from the four elements: fire, air, earth, and water. By trusting nature, wonderful color surprises emerge, giving life and energy to each garment.  

Using only the highest quality natural wool, alpaca, mohair, silk, bamboo, cotton and linen fibers, I create garments that embody all things wabi-sabi. They are a crafted to celebrate beauty.

My process begins with a sense of wonder…sparks of ideas find me and won’t let go. Color choices are always the first step, then I dive into a sea of what-ifs, playing with design possibilities, exploring texture, and composition—through all of this, the form, the structure of the piece reveals itself. Then slowly, one mindful stitch at a time, a bespoke garment is born.
